We are truly blessed to have received our new custom built shower trailer provided by a most generous donor who saw our great need first hand while we were responding to Hurricane Michael that destroyed most of Panama City, FL October 10, 2018. Not having water for five days and no power for eight days we were forced to build shower stalls out of 2 x 4s and tarps and take bottled water showers outside on the concrete basketball court at the Panama City Seventh-day Adventist Church. (Picture below) After 4 days someone donated collapsable shower stalls to add to the ones we constructed. We were stationed there in cooperation with the Gulf States Conference to help the National Guard run five PODS (Point of Distribution Site) for the state of Florida that provided food, water and tarps for survivors. The donors came to look over some properties they owned that had been damaged by the storm and asked to park their RV on the church parking lot. We invited them to be inside our security perimeter provided by eight National Guard soldiers 24/7 and to eat their meals and worship with us. While looking over their properties around town over a period of four days they also watched what was taking place on the church campus and were impressed by the ongoings of running a POD and how 100 students and adults didn’t complain about the bottled water showers along with the lack of electricity. A few months later they contacted us with the desire to help us solve the issue of showers for our volunteers while on deployment. Their most generous donation allowed us to order a 32 foot shower trailer with 8 stalls, 2 sinks in both of the four stall shower areas, on-demand hot water, two 100 lb propane tanks that should last the two weeks we usually deploy, a 7000 watt Honda generator to operate the shower trailer under any conditions and a washer and dryer. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE BLESSING THIS SHOWER TRAILER IS TO OUR DEPLOYMENTS!!! After some delays, such as our original shower trailer being destroyed in an accident on the way to being delivered to us, caused a two year delay before finally making it into our possession undamaged. HALLELUJAH IT IS HERE AND IMPRESSIVE!!!! Below are pictures of what our beautiful shower trailer looks like!!
